While I was having troubles with setting up the new BZ server (battlezone1.net) I was cursing all those who knew how to do it, but refused to help (Launchalot, Eddy, Genx...). Reaper gave me the compiled code and a few Linux tips so it all came down to me finding a good hosting company and configuring the Server properly. After a few weeks of tries and errors I made it.

The result of this is us having the cleanest BZ server since the Activision's days. So thanks to Mr. Anonymous who paid for the whole thing, Mr. Dan Kegel who wrote the original instructions and put our server on the master list and of course thanks to Activision for releasing the Anet code.
I wanted to write a tutorial on how to set up a server, but as the time was passing by, and after seeing 2 new Genx's servers (4 all together), along with 1 Eddy's I realized that server is too powerful tool when in the wrong hands. Eddy with his 911 was killing BZ for the last few years. Hacking rooms, changing default rooms, supporting some silly mod, treating BZ like unwanted game, supporting hackers, banning the fair players... I don't even have to say what Genx did with his 4 servers...
Eddy (911 Firbirgir) and Genx together brought BZ to the edge of extinction. Instead having 1000 players, we have 100, all because of those 2 dummies. Our new server (battlezone1.net) has a tough quest now, we have to fix all mistakes done by previous server owners and carry BZ where it belongs to be, as one of the top rated games of all times.
With summing everything up, I decided not to reveal publicly any Anet information. You have the source code and you can try to do it on your own. If you can't do it and you have a good and sincere reason for building up another server you can contact me over PM.
