I did this long ago just for myself, so I could freely play the NSDF Campaign and Red Odyssey BDog Campaign without hearing any questionable language, and to avoid bothering my family with it as well.

These audio clips have been flawlessly edited so that if you had never heard the original dialog, you wouldn't know that anything was edited. ;)

Edited BZ Dialog clips
Edited RO Dialog clips

Unzip the files to your addon(s).

The format is the same as clips from the ZFS:
PCM 11.025 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono.

If you prefer no bad language, enjoy.

I hold myself to a high standard.

See you in the zone!

There was questionable language in Battlezone? I never heard it. As I've read, the edits to the original audio are, by default, in the version of the download.

My question: Does anyone have the original audio and instructions on how to reinstall it? Not the Mag cannon or any edits to sounds produced by weapons, ETC, because that is a good thing, but any dialogue I prefer to have unedited. Just a preference of mine.

You've read wrong. Battlezone 1998 is stock game + patches. Custom stuff is optional and besides there's no audio edits in it, only custom maps, custom sniper scopes and lower volume MAG sound.

Edit:
I see now what you meant by questionable language... moving your topic there...

I have no idea what Spork uploaded here or what is questionable in the original audio, but I know his edits are not in the installer.

Oh... I swear it was somewhere. Well... it was late last night that I was reading so I probably did read it wrong. Eh...

And I don't know either, but now reviewing them I think I'll do a little investigating to seek out what the lines used to be...

These are completely optional edits that remove all potentially offensive language from the single player dialog. None of these are in the installer, nor do I feel they need to be.

Even phrase like "what the hell?" is considered swearing, and "damn" is a "bad word" that I do not use. The word "hell" itself can be a "bad word" depending on the context. Other things like using "Jesus" as an exclamation of dissatisfaction are offensive particularly to those who believe in Jesus Christ, (taking God's name in vain) so those are edited as well.

None of you are forced to use these clips, I simply put them here for any like me who are more "picky" about language in games.

There are a few audio edits in BZ 1998, but those are completely different, cutting size to 500 kb or less to fix missing audio in single player without using Windows 98 compatibility mode. For example, the Lander scene in 1st NSDF mission. Only some silence was deleted from some clips in the installer. All the dialog is still there.
