Finally, it's here! The official signup sheet for Bz3. If you want to help, just say so. Please list what you know, and programs you might have(that cost money, like solidworks, Adobe products, etc...) no matter how big or small, because any and all help is appreciated. More likely than not, it will take quite awhile for anything to happen, so don't get discouraged, that is why this is here, to tell me and everyone else what we have, or don't have.

I am quite able with a computer, despite not knowing any programming languages. I have access to Adobe CS2 Premium, if it is needed. I also posses a want to get this started. I will try to act as director until somebody else with more talent comes along.

[as said before, it is illegal to be discouraged on this topic]

The most I got is Jasc paint shop pro 8 and Animation shop, Alice is a good 3D program and requires no programming, and 3D studio max could make custom 3D objects for Alice, unfortunately Alice is limited on commands... Oh well at least the concept art part is covered :)

I'm a skilled modeler/animator, do it for a living...

I don't own any programs that are not already free to download (believe it or not, Blender3D is every bit as good as 3DS max or maya, in fact, 3DS Max is utter crap when put against Blender, and the fact that it's open source rocks) but I could get you any 3D models you need, high quality, in any format you need (unless it's some totally obscure file type that I've never heard of)

I also dabble around in sound quite a bit, been on a few *failed* dev-teams before so i have a basic understanding on everything from the engine, programming, and, of course, modeling and animation.

Quick question though, do you know of anything you are planning on using? I mean, what Engine and whatnot? I can be a great help here too if you need it.

I would be happy to help. I am interested mostly in story writing/music design, although I am going to be taking several programming/graphical design courses.

Programs: DxStudio (upgrading to Commercial Christmas) - amazing 3D Engine program

I can help out some. I used to be a web designer (DreamWeaver MX), have Adobe CS3, and can help out with the story line. I also know a BZ player not on this board that has programming abilities, I can see if he would be interested in contributing.

I do know about MilkShape 3D and Blender as excellent free 3D modeling programs. If you are a graphic student, these are great programs to use.

FYI: Free programs are also available at www.SourceForge.net, in all software areas (including graphic engines). This also includes those running Linux and Macintosh.

PS: Note I'm in college, and that comes before anything.

I know Zmodeler 2, so I guess I can help with development as well.

I'm all over this, and I have been for a while. :D

Personally I have experience with mod development/management and programming/software development (moderate knowledge of the UT3 platform, though gaining quickly atm). I've also got quite some knowledge about graphics (such as working with geometry, shaders, particle effects) and web development, though my focus has shifted towards coding over the last years.

The UT3 platform appeals to me as an ideal platform to quickly implement the Battlezone style gameplay mechanics (though base building will be quite a challenge).

Looks like this thread also died though. :( PM me or check back at battlezone3.com if you're interested.

Sounds like a good project to put my talents to work on.

I have some experience with coding most programming languages, but some of them I cannot program in.
So far I know VB, C and some PHP (as well as I play around with some of the more approachable ones).

What exactly is this whole thing about anyway?
You need some sort of about thread.

Roger,

Do you have the ability to learn C++? One of the original BZ1 programmers, Ken, is trying to make a patch for the minor glitches in BZ1. The thread for this is at experimental-build-t895.html.

Other than that, there is a game engine we could use...it is discussed some here: epic-games-announces-unreal-development-kit-powered-by-ue3-t877.html

I can create any game material for BZ1/2. (models, sounds, textures, all odf things, aips, cfgs, etc)

I also have Visual Studio C++ 2005 and will be going to college to learn to make computer games.

Maybe in 4 years I can help code it :P

In the midst of all this, what about popular open-source games like Half-Life 2? I wonder if it's possible to make BZ from the source engine.
