Hey,
I have the original battlezone game and i recently wanted to play it again but, when try to install it i says that i cannot install because of operating system (I have XP). So i went around to see if i could like fix it so i looked up that downloading the V1.4 patch and turning off DEP or w/e that thing is called in performance settings but, its still the same. Also when i try to install the patch it doesn't let me because they can't find the previous one or something. O_O
Anyways, so can anyone help me ?

Browse your BZ disk, go in "Install" folder and double click on SETUP.exe. Then you should be able to install it. After that follow tips from here (How to play original BZ on Windows XP).

Easier way is to install BZ1.4M installer.

Never heard of that problem, but it isn't the same whether you let setup start automatically or you start it yourself (like I described).

I have 2 original versions of BZ and when I let setup to start on its own I get an error, but different kind.

Are you saying that you get the same error with BZ1.4M?

well when i click the bzone.exe for the 1.4M i gives me an apllication error that says "The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application but from trying to install from the cd (The normal way and the going to install and setup.exe) it gives me some warning message right after it unpacking part of the install that says "This product requires the English language windows 95/NT operating system..."
so yeah ima thinking maybe its something to do with the DEP thingy in the performance settings ?

If you have 64bit Windows it got to be DEP... Then you have to do this, but you said you already did that, so I dunno how else to help you...

Sorry for necroing this thread, but I had the same problem too with the region error and I managed to fix it, just thought I'd save others a lot of frustration.

All I did was go to Control panel and change all my Region settings to "English (United Kingdom)" . Make sure you set everything to "English (United Kingdom)" under the Regional Options and Advanced tabs. I hope this works for you , I know it's 1 year late.. lol .
