Well, I don't often have the time for games now that school began
Though I do try to set up all vs me games every now and again. That bomber tactic usually only works on noobs, or if the difference in strength for both players is great.

That's wierd, usually they just shoot and come in closer for a closer kill. Never had an experience like that before.

I was playing a RO Black Dog SP mission, and I saw my Gun Tower shoot blast past 200m a few times sporadically, the thing it was shooting at was on MY radar, and whenever my radar blinked, I'd sometimes see the GT shoot about 225m to hit the enemy GT. (Gun Towers only have 200m radar range)

Thats interesting, Blast has range of 300 meters. So don't be suprised that it can hit that far away. I thought that NSDF/Bdog GTs work like Golems. They shoot from 300 meters away, but don't notice a unit until it reaches 200 meters. Could that be the reason?

Well, it was rather unexpected behavior in my opinion because gun towers cannot be ordered to attack like Golems can, and Gun Towers normally don't shoot at anything further than 200m, even with 300m range blast weapon. I'm fully aware that Golems can be ordered to attack up to 300m even with only 250m radar. Dx thought that was a bug, it's not a bug, it's AI using the full range of its weapons when given a direct order to attack. The gun tower shooting >200m didn't shoot consistently, it seemed somewhat random. It would take 1 shot and then stop, and then after a while take another shot and stop again.

I remember many situations that I was attacked by NSDF GTs from more than 200 meters. Golems fire normally from 200 meters, get out of 200 meters and they still shoot at you until your out of weapon range.

When you come within 200m, they engage. They will keep shooting at you until you leave their radar range (250m) unless they were ordered to attack you, in which case they'll shoot up to 300m, range of blast.
GTs will fire on till you are out of 200m range. But I have had GTs hit me from 250+ meters, and it scared the crap out of me. But golems will fire on you until you are over 300m away, or if you drop out of line of sight and are over 200 meters away.
Valak was bored, so I hopped on and started a strat. We went moon war. I was CCA, Valak was NSDF. So the strat starts out pretty much the usual. I build 4 scavs, and then a constructor. I have the constructor build a silo near the outside of my base, and another silo to the north. As soon as I had enough scrap, my Rec pumped out an MUF and then an Armory. Both are deployed, and I start building fighters and tanks. I have a few Valak sightings, but nothing major. Once I have about 7 attack units, I head towards the middle, after ordering my constructor to build a barracks. I attack Valak's scavs and destroy his silo in the middle. I also destroy his constructor. Then Valak shows up in his tank, and he has a few buddies. A dogfight ensues, and my force makes it about halfway to his base before I am ejected and I order the retreat.
After I land, I have one of my newly built tanks pick me back up, and then I give it a pair of SPs. I then build 4 more offensive units and another scav. I attack Valak again, and this time I get all the way to his base before getting ejected. I let my remaining units just attack randomly whilst I retreat. During this time I had my constructor build a few more barracks, since all this attacking cost me a few pilots and the rest are really f*ing slow. The third attack goes badly early on. Valak intercepted my force in the middle of the map, using his scavs as decoys, so that my tanks and fighters didn't target his grizzlies and razors. I see this, and run past the battle, and go straight for his rec. I destroy it, and then Valak returns and with a pair of scouts ejects me. I get back to my base, and get into a tank. As I prepare another attack squad, Valak rushes across the map with a small pase and blows my rec. During this attack I destroy his entire force. I prepare for a retaliation, but see a day wrecker inbound, and instead of ignoring it like I should have, I stay to kill it.
Now we are both out of a rec. At this point I have to go afk for a little bit, and when I get back, my constructor and 2 scavs and all my silos are missing. I figure he must have missed my message so I shrug it off, since I have a decent amount of scrap. This is where it gets interesting. Valak attacks again, and overwhelms what is left of my force, and blows my factory. I get ejected, and when I land, snipe his ass. I also snipe 2 other tanks, and using one of them destroy his remaining 2 tanks and scouts. I shoot down another day wrecker, and head across the map, only to get ejected again. I land, and sit outside my base. Valak shows up and starts shooting at my armory, so I try to snipe him. I miss my first shot, but get him while he is flying past with my second. He loses, since he had no lives left. I get into his tank, and start destroying his scavs, but then he leaves after a GG.

Im a little confused by Cerberus rendition of our game. It certainly was fun but a little heated. As far as me attacking while he was afk it never happened. I sat in the middle and waited even though it seemed silly to go afk in the middle of what was a losing battle. He typed in (brb) and i was already on the way with the attack force. I was killing a scav in the map center when i saw it on the screen. we had several great tank battles as he said but that afk silenced my attack. meanwhile as i sit waiting scavs are moving things are happening. i finally typed are you there and at that instant he typed yes im back. Then i went to his base fro the finish. He made a great snipe and messed my attack but my tanks wrecked his base. I sent a dw on the way out just before the snipe . On my return trip to finish for the seconed time i had not made it in the base and got my ass shot again lol. I was shooting at a pilot on the ramp and bang. I said damn i hate games ending like that but gg! We played a 2nd game on ice 3 way with tailgater. In this game I removed tailgater after a few of his harassing apc attacks and used the scrap against cereberus. We had a few great battles and he harassed my base a few times so i decided not to wait on him like last time and let him have my recy. I removed him from his tank and snuck around his recy and took it down. (it had no rear defenses). as soon as it was down he says (that was gay) even though he the game was 45 minutes old and he took mine in the first ten in the game prior. At this point i was not going to be nice any more and sent the whole gang to his base for all intents and purposes he was done but somehow he ejected my tank and i ended up on my spawn. Just as i got into a new tank with sps the game froze so i was unable to finish. Both were good games and i hold no malice to cerberus for his comments. He seemed a good player and i enjoyed the game's. I felt bad losing to a 2 life snipe when i had the strat part won but that's the breaks ill get him next time. gg cerberus and i hope we can play another game maybe a bit more friendly? heheh good sniping! cya in the zone. Valak
Well, sorry Valak. I have had a stressful week, and obviously my emotion got in the way of rendering an accurate representation of your abilities as a stratter and the story of the strat. The afk in the middle of the match was cause there was an emergency in real life that required my attention, and it couldn't wait. My apologies. As for evicting me of my tank, that was my fault for laggin out (my PC may work now, but it is still a pain in the ass). I will greatly enjoy our next match, and hope you can forgive me for any misconceptions and bashing of your abilities that I unintentionally placed here. Always ready to party!
Btw, did anyone else notice that no one ever wants to play team matches anymore?

I have been avoiding posting this since it was embarrassing... But here goes. Hyper and I have been waiting for a rematch for ages, so we finally got one. After a short battle on Moon (my game froze up and then quit 10 minutes in) we started our party.
You guys all know my startup sequence so I won't bore you with those details. This battle ended in about the first 5 minutes. I got a team of 4 scouts and 4 tanks, and charged at hyper, who took my force head on. I ejected his rear in the first fight, and blew his escort force. But his scavs got in the way, and I couldn't get my troops to disengage and attack his base. He comes back after a few minutes of me getting annoyed at my units, and brings some reinforcements with him. After another short fight, I lose my troops and run away. He does not pursue (a wise decision since my second assault wave was already under way).
After a few minutes of sitting and prepping, I pump up a tank with dual sps, and get in it. I have my rig build a barracks, and head towards the middle, where hyper is guarding his scav lines. My force attacks, and he thumps em and starts shooting. I shoot one back at him, and a rather messy dogfight ensues, in which hyper and I both end up killing about 3 of our own guys in addition to each other and a mess of other units. I manage to get his rig, and then I get ejected. As I am about to land, I get mortared and die. At this point, hyper dies (not sure why, I think he got road-raged by a scav) and the middle is a mess. I recall all of my attackers and pull back to my base.
A few minutes later, I realize, I am running out of scrap. I get what is left of my force, and after some hasty reloads and repairs, run for the middle. Hyper has realized my pattern by now, and he is waiting with an armada of scouts and tanks. The following fight is short and nasty. My squad gets demolished, but not before killing off at least 4 of hypers units. I get blown, and before I can land, Hyper shoots me with a dual SP in midair (a very nice shot btw hyper). I am defeated, and sit there chatting with him after as my base is demolished.
Was a pretty good game. If I missed anything, sorry hyper.
