Ravage family is not very smart... I mean they keep fooling BZC dummies, pretending they are not hacked, but who can't fool them? Even Danny did, #1 Bz hacker of all times. Fortunately, these boards have smarter members who can differ stock from hack.

Ravage was caught when he posted his SS, clearly showing more ammo. They were more careful from that moment, but they (Ravage and his son Xtreme) are dummies so they made a mistake again. Here's Xtreme's (Spock's date) SS posted few days ago, where he was bragging about his 1on1 "skills"... Do you see a hack on it?
Image

Too small? What if I magnify it for you and put a stock SS under Xtreme's hacked SS... do you see a hack now?
Image
Image

Still nothing? OK, I'll explain what he does... First, do you see that white mark on ammo bars? You know what that shows? It shows how much ammo you will spend when you fire from selected weapon(s), how much will ammo bar lower down. Bdog has 1200 ammo, SP Stabber's ammo cost is 12, AT Stabber's 9, together 21. Simple math: 1200:21=57 we see when the load is full.

Now check again 2 pictures from above and compare them. They both show full load, but they have white mark on a different place. What that tell us? It tell us that Xtreme's linked SP and AT don't cost 21, like they should.

Lower price he has on SP and AT in the end give him much more ammo than 57. On his SS he edited his ammo number, which is very easy to do, cause of the white text on black surface. He went to the same PhotoShop school as Bart. But they are both idiots and as Bart forgot about longer black surface with 3 digits FPS, Xtreme forgot about the white mark, when he was editing his SS.

I tried to realize how much he hacked rocket.odf and rocket3.odf (odf's for AT and SP) by decreasing cost of it myself. First I cut its price for half, I got 109 linked shots, but check white mark, it's still on the same place as on the stock 57 shots SS.
Image

So I lowered price at half again (4x cheaper than stock) and look what I found. White mark is on the same place as on Xtreme's hacked SS.
Image

I did some more testing, and realized that even 600 shots, shows the same position of white mark, which matches Xtreme's hacked SS.
Image

Conclusion:
Xtreme hacked ammo consumption of his SP/AT combo to gain something like 240-600 shots, instead 57. Before he uploaded his hacked SS, he just edited number of shots into 57 with PhotoShop.

Of course, that's not the only thing he has hacked, but that's the only thing visible from his own SS. The one who plays with odf's and lowers ammo consumption will for sure hack speed, damage, shot delay and who knows what else...

He even said

Xtreme wrote:
I have to lower my visibility to 75 to get around 30 FPS

and everybody knows that he has extremely fast ship/weapons. Now we know why is that, he hacks ODF!

I strongly suggest you to ban him when hosting a game.

Damn.., that explains why he wasnt concerned about ammo at all. I knew something was wrong with Xtreme, but i didnt expect him to post a screenshot on BZC with his hacking visible for everyone. That combined with the brainless bragging..., is incredibly dumb, especially because he made a mistake like that before, with that screenshot of his dad with modified ammo. We already knew he's a sneaky hacker but who would have thought he 'd post the evidence himself!

BUSTED!

But, I thought, if you changed ODF values then you would get MVMs and be unable to play multiplayer anymore....

Does that mean it is possible for them do that and NOT get MVM?!

Yes, normally you get MVM, but cheaters can bypass it or edit memory.

Don't bother to ask how, I won't tell you, you don't need to know.

If you figure out how to bypass it, you'll be tempted to cheat, and if you cheat, you'll certainly get caught, and be treated like all the other cheaters:

1. You'll get teamed every single game.

or

2. Those who have firewall will block you when hosting a game, meaning you won't be able to join.

I made the mistake of cheating last year. It got me nowhere, people started banning my IP, and the legit players teamed me, which of course took away what little fun was left of BZ.

So don't bother trying to figure out how to cheat either, just play fair. :)

I am not now, nor will I ever, going to ask how to cheat on Battlezone for the PC.
I'll keep my fun time cheating against the super-easy computer on the N64 version. :D

I know not why people do use cheats on this (the pc version) game, when they could buy an N64 on ebay, and the N64 version of this game, and cheat there with no opposition.
They would rule the Solar System, like I do, on the N64 version if they cheated there instead.
They would rule it for the next 10 years (or longer, but 10 years is how long I have played Battlezone for the N64).

Oh, and here's something else funny:

When I ask cheaters if they beat single player on hard, they say it was too easy.

Yes, it is easy, but I'll bet they beat it with the built-in cheat codes for the game.

After all, if they go to such lengths to cheat at a game in multiplayer, what convinces me that they legitimately beat single player?

On the N64 version, I always play cheat Single Player, because I only play it for fun, and I want to see what the computer's reactions are.

On some missions, I destroy the recycler and the units that are supposed to be built by it are STILL built even though they have no Recycler to build it from :D
Its fun for me to destroy the building the Furies spawn from and then watch them still come to life even though their "Recycler" is dead.
I found the building the Furies' base is from, and its called Tartarus. The computer strategy help warned me to stay away from it, and sure enough I did not and then destroyed it, meaning no more Furies.

I use the fun cheats on my N64 version to overwhelm the computer by replacing my offensive ships as fast as they are beat down.

I also use it to practice sniping and such, but the snipe target looks different than in my version, and so I have no idea what to aim at when sniping...

I don't know what you aim at on the N64 version, but in PC BZ, you look for a glowing dot when aiming at an occupied vehicle or pilot on foot. If you learn where the dot is on pilot, you can snipe them with no scope from air. For ships, you target them and aim for the diamond from air. It is possible to do it out of targeting range if you know where the dot on the ship is at too.

I got lucky and got a crazy air snipe on a tank from very far away, and I even happened to get it on first shot. Everybody thinks it's a hack, but it's not.

Needless to say, I was lucky enough to get it on video as well.

Back on topic, ROFL at Xtreme and his ammo hack.

You forgot to mention if you don't know what you are doing, you could potentially nuke your machine.

Nuke your machine?

Well I guess if you hack other things besides BZ that could happen.

I was more thinking about a noob trying to modify the running memory, and modding explorer.exe to get some extra ammo. That's be a nice oops moment. :)

Oh, if you try to hack explorer.exe, yeah, something bad will probably happen. ;)

I wouldn't ever...I prefer my working laptop to a $1500 paperweight anyday.

I'll leave that stupidness to the people who hack pcs for a living (not the BZ hackers, but the really-bad guys).

That Dummy Xtreme doesn't know when enough is enough, he posted another hacked screen shot.

Here's how stock SS looks like on all resolutions (pay attention on a white mark, which shows how much ammo will be spent).

Xtreme's AT Stabbers consume at least 2x less ammo than normal. He's defending himself by playing guilty. Not smart...

I made AT stabber consume 4 ammo instead 9 and I got a perfect match for Xtreme's hack:

4 instead 9

Xtreme's hack

How he "fixed" more ammo showing? That's the easiest part. He just copy pasted 66 ammo from stock SS to his hacked SS.

Busted again!

Edit:
I see Xtreme is receiving huge support for his hacking from BFT, CF, Bart and Ravage (Pandemic). You guys should know that supporting a hack is same as hacking. Haven't you learned anything with Danny?
